Sure, summer in Tahoe is all about wake surfing, pickleball, and a little lakeside beer pong—but sometimes, you want your plans to come with a dress code and a glass of wine.
If that sounds like your kind of vibe, welcome to Tahoe’s sophisticated summer circuit, where elegance meets elevation.
Here’s your inside scoop on the best Tahoe cultural events and things to do in Tahoe summer 2025 (and yes, you'll want to book early):
📍 Sand Harbor | 🗓️ July 5 – Aug 24
Shakespeare under the stars, backed by crashing waves and towering pines? Yes, please. This year’s lineup: Twelfth Night (classic comedy with a twist) and Peter and the Starcatcher (a whimsical prequel to Peter Pan).
But that’s not all: the Showcase Series brings everything from ABBA tributes (yes, your inner Dancing Queen is welcome) to David Bowie nights and classical concerts from the Reno Phil and Sierra Nevada Ballet. True Shakespeare lovers and pop fans alike—this is your moment for Shakespeare at Sand Harbor and beyond.

📍 Obexer’s Boat Company, Homewood | 🗓️ Aug 8–9
The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance began in 1972 as a handful of wooden boat lovers gathering at Chamber’s Landing—and now? It’s the most prestigious wooden boat show in North America.
Over the decades, the show has moved across Tahoe’s marinas, finally settling at Obexer’s Boat Company—the first wooden boat dealership on the lake and a slice of boating history in its own right. Each year, Concours features a different Marque Class, and this year it celebrates 100 years of Gar Wood Boats—a true legend in craftsmanship and speed.
Expect more than just varnish and vintage: there’s luxury shopping, catered cuisine, fine wines from across the West Coast, live jazz, and yes—the Roar-Off under the Olson Bridge is a must-hear moment.
While you're there, pop over to Gar Woods Grill & Pier for a famous Wet Woody (fair warning: it’s stronger than it sounds).

📍 Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline Village | 🗓️ July 22–25
Ballet in the mountains hits different—and this year, it hits all across North Lake Tahoe. Celebrate 13 years of exquisite performance with the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective as they bring talent from NYC Ballet, Boston Ballet, and more to stunning outdoor venues.
Don’t miss Opening Night in Tahoe City on July 22nd: your $75 ticket includes a generous spread by celebrated chef Alex Tolger, one drink (wine, beer, or N/A), a silent auction, and a seated performance under the stars. Culture with a side of culinary delight? We’re in for this Tahoe ballet performance. 👉 laketahoedancecollective.org
Think of this summer lineup as a well-earned intermission between all the golf games, mountain biking, and paddleboard sessions. Whether you're artsy by nature or appreciate a good excuse to dress up, Tahoe’s cultural side is calling—and it’s got really great wine.
